You will serve as a SCIENTIST in the Corporate Business Office Division (106) of the Operations Department (10) of CARDEROCK DIV NS. This position is part of Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-4 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 and GS-13.

Duties

You will Implement and execute Corporate and Business Planning, Command Metrics, and Command Business Data Analytics. You will lead the command in the application of big data analytics to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of all business efforts throughout the Division. You will translate complex concepts, findings, and limitations into concise, plain language. You will research and design presentations and interpretations of analytical outputs tailored to specific audiences including the use of interactivity and narrative storytelling where appropriate. You will gather and store data in original form (i.e., raw data); process and convert raw data into clean, organized information. You will conduct observational analyses using software and/or programming languages such as Qlink, Power BI, Tableau, R, Python, SPSS or SAS to explore/group data, test hypotheses, predict outcomes, and inform decisions. You will perform data manipulation and reporting using Microsoft Office products. You will support the business data analytics program and associated administrative functions.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 pay band (GS 9-11 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional Scientist analyzing and interpreting findings from structured and unstructured data sets by using various tools and techniques to manage the health of system-based environments. Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.

Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as listed above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
