About the position: This position will be assigned to the 97th Force Support Squadron, Windy Trails Golf Course. The purpose of this position is to perform repairs on a variety of motorized equipment, used in the everyday operation of the Golf Course. This position is a Flexible position (flexible position DO NOT have any benefits)Intermittent (flexible) employees have no guaranteed hours but may be worked 0 to 40 hours a week

Duties

Inspects and performs maintenance on a variety of equipment such as and gasoline operated golf carts, lawn mowers, tractors etc., determines when various parts should be cleaned or replaced. Locates worn, dirty, or poorly adjusted parts through visual check or use of variety of equipment. Golf Carts require such maintenance as: Checking and changing oil/filters, adjustments, such as setting distributer and voltage regulator points, changing spark plugs, adjusting and changing brakes, brake pads. Uses a variety of tools, gauges, wrenches, pliers, brake tools, ignition tools, screwdrivers etc. Assists in maintaining golf course grounds by operating tractor with attachments and adjusts equipment for job requirements. Cuts down or digs up diseased or dead trees and removes roots and stumps using power operated equipment or by hand operated tools. Removes fallen limbs and debris, prunes, trims, shrubs. Operates tractor to avoid damaging shrubs, trees and grass. Reseeds, resods, resprings, regrades grass areas where grass has been completely killed. Assists other personnel in applying fertilizer and water to grass areas. Performs operator maintenance by making adjustments to loosen bolts, screws, blades, belts, oil fittings, joint linage, etc. Files dull cutting edge of blades and backlap reels. Cleans and maintains all tools used in ground maintenance and equipment repair. Cleans and makes adjustments to sprinkler heads. Inventories and maintains adequate stock levels of spare parts needed to assure prompt repairs can be performed. CONTROLS OVER WORK: Works under the supervision of the Golf Course Manager, who provides specific assignments and tasks either orally or in writing. Performs duties independently. Performs repair work in accordance with accepted trade practices and repair manuals. Completed work is checked for compliance with instruction and for adequacy. OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS: Physical Effort: Crawling, bending standing, and working in various strained positions. Frequently lifts objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Qualifying Experience: Applicants must have progressively responsible experience performing maintenance/repair of small engine equipment/vehicles. Additionally, applicants must have knowledge of both operating/maintaining powered equipment used in grounds maintenance. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) This position is a drug testing position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.
