About the Position: As a Materials Handler you will perform a full spectrum of journey level warehouse functions for a multiple purpose hydroelectric power plant project, and associated knowledge and skill in identifying and properly warehousing specialized power plant items.

Duties

Establish item locations, determine organization and arrangement of stock. Identify high and low usage items according to agency regulations and procedures. Pack, unpack, sort, stack, and verify quantity, quality, and suitability of received items. Perform in-storage checks for need for maintenance, vermin control, damage, and report findings to supervisor for action. Prepare applicable forms and conduct annual property inventory using bar code scanners to upload data into an automated inventory system. Responsible for receipt, storage, and handling of hazardous materials. Order property items using credit card and validate credit card statement monthly.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
  • Obtain and maintain a forklift license within 6 months of appointment.
  • Pre-employment physical is required.

Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes and bruises; falls from ladders; or injury from mechanical conveyor system or other material handling equipment. Must wear appropriate safety equipment and protective clothing and successfully complete and maintain all occupational health requirements.
