About the Position: As Army Community Service Multi-Functional Manager/Division Chief at a small or medium installation, develops and implements a myriad of service delivery models designed to maximize Soldier, Retiree, Family, Survivor and Civilian adaptability, promote-self-reliance and Readiness.

Duties

Develop, and administer plans and procedures and implement regulations. Plans for and effectively uses resources allocated to installation ACS programs and services. Supervises employees assigned to Army Community Services. Implement various service delivery models to maximize Soldier, Retiree, Family, Survivor and Civilian adaptability, promote self-reliance, resiliency, and Readiness. Develops and implement a myriad of service delivery models designed to maximize Soldier, Retiree, Family, Survivor and Civilian adaptability.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R
  • A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, such as psychology, counseling, sociology and/or behavior science. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing community services for an organization in areas such as establishing goals, objectives and/or procedures in accordance with state, DoD and other federal guidance, regulations and laws. Developing measurement tools for organizational needs in areas such as self-assessment, community assessment and other measurement tools to identify trends. compiling statistics and reports to management on information pertaining to organizational/ community needs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
