Duties

You will assure quality workmanship in accordance with specifications and industry standards on building material structural systems as required. You will evaluate and assure the quality control efforts of the construction contractor to assure adherence to contract requirements. You will review and enforce the management of the contractor's safety program to assure adherence to contract requirements. You will ensure project progress is on schedule, within budget and in accordance with all applicable technical, safety, and control requirements. You will provide "field" level evaluation of contractor's proposal for constructability, hidden costs, alternative methods, etc.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • You may be assigned to work in areas where certain potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying technical expertise in the field of the various building construction disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical systems, building materials and installation methods, quality and safety management; AND ensuring that projects are completed in accordance with contract requirements, safety and environmental policies and regulations, and in coordination with other agencies and/or contractors.
