The incumbent will serve as a Laborer in the General Support Shop under the general supervisor of the Supervisory Maintenance Mechanic with the second level direction provided by the Maintenance Control Manager.

Duties

Major duties include, but are not limited to: Perform duties as a laborer in direct support of the supervisor and/or other trade and craft employees engaged in maintenance-related activities. Load, unload, separate, stack, carry materials, supplies and packaging weighing from 40 to 100 pounds with assistance. Lift, move and carry heavy objects such as heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies. Dig ditches, shovel snow and perform general duties assisting craft employees. Perform operator maintenance, cleaning of all equipment and cleaning of assigned areas. Variety of manual labor tasks incidental to trade or craft work, or warehousing or construction and maintenance activities requiring application of knowledge and experience gained, on previous similar assignments. Performs other related duties as assigned. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated.
