Duties

This position requires military membership in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard (PRARNG). Selected applicant(s) will be required to complete an online Onboarding process.

Requirements

Qualifications

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This position requires military membership in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard (PRARNG). If you are not a military member of the PRARNG (i.e., Airman, civilian, active-duty Soldier, prior service, guard member from another state, reservist, IRR, State Guard, etc.), you must contact the Recruiting and Retention (R&R) Office at (787) 289-1400 extension 2015 or 2008 and request the PRARNG Military Basic Requirements (MBR) Certification. If the MBR certification is not submitted, or you do not meet the requirements to be a member of the PRARNG, your application will not be screened. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: HRO MUST process and clear the Department of Defense (DoD), Priority Placement Program (PPP), prior to advertising all internal and external job vacancies and promotion announcements. Area 1 = All permanent Enlisted employee's members (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Army National Guard. Area 2 = All indefinite Enlisted employee's members (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Army National Guard. Area 3 = Enlisted currently serving members of the Puerto Rico Amy National Guard. Area 4 = Enlisted Prior (former) members of the Puerto Rico Army National Guard. Area 6 = Applicants who meet all requirements to become an Enlisted of the Puerto Rico Army National Guard. DUTIES: As a HR ASST (MIL) (D1190000), GS-0203-6, you will provide assistance in administering the military personnel program for the Battalion/Squadron. The position works under the direction of the senior personnel and administrative NCO. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is primarily sedentary. There may be periods of standing and the employee frequently carries light items such as files, pamphlets, etc. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated as typically found in an office environment.??????? SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicantmust possess at least ONE (1) year at next lower-level GS-05 or the equivalent TWELVE (12) months of specialized experience performing or supervising duties such as assisting in administering the military personnel program; preparing for and participating in command level inspections; compiling subordinate feeder information, identifies trends, and proposes recommendations; reviewing and providing recommendations for the assignment and utilization of military personnel; accomplishing or reviewing a variety of military personnel transactions and forwarding actions to a higher-level military personnel office; reviewing and forwarding enlisted evaluation reports; providing information and assistance at subordinate levels tasked with personnel actions; reviewing enlisted promotion packets; reviewing; preparing documentation and providing administrative support for battalion level enlisted promotion boards; assisting with the coordination of health services support; reviewing and forwarding reports of annual medical certifications; providing technical guidance and reviewing formal and informal line of duty investigations; reviewing and/or preparing the packets required for submission to the medical review and profile boards; assisting in the preparation of unit standing operating procedures; assisting in the implementation of the full range of personnel actions; providing information benefits and entitlements, career and bonus programs, educational, retirement, and other benefits; assembling supporting documentation required at higher levels when processing actions; performing various administrative duties relating to military personnel.

Education

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Completion of 2 academic years of education in an accredited college or university will satisfy the requirements (30 semester's hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week) for 3 months of specialized experience. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. Courses must be directly related to the work of the position.
