About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, in Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico.

Duties

Schedule and dispatch vehicles to accommodate requests for transportation services submitted by customers. Conduct safety inspections and inventory control of all assigned General Services Administration (GSA) non tactical and Army-Owned vehicles. Maintain vehicle accountability, receive new requests, and process documentation required for dispatching to new activities. Prepare reports for monthly billing of GSA non-tactical vehicles. Work with Installation Transportation Officer (ITO) to reconcile monthly GSA fleet billings. Maintain vehicle utilization records using daily dispatch documents or automated spread sheets. Responsible within the section for key issue and accountability for all vehicles.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to obtain and maintain a forklift operator license.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Qualifications

Current Civilian Employees of the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Fort Buchanan Logistics Readiness Center, within the local commuting area. Consideration will also be given to current Department of Army Civilian employees with competitive status. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Ensuring dispatch operations and/or procedures comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and/or regulations; 2) Ensuring motor pool missions are completed in a timely manner; 3) Preparing billing reports related to General Services Administration (GSA) non-tactical vehicles; and 4) Analyzing and/or compiling data in reference to vehicle mileage and/or fuel consumption to generate vehicle usage reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
