This position serves as the equipment coordinator for Department of Transfusion Medicine (DTM) or The Center for Cellular Engineering (CCE) to include equipment used for cGMP manufacturing, new product development, product assurance and character testing. This announcement is being advertised to fill multiple vacancies within the Clinical Center, Department of Transfusion Medicine. Duties

Conducting daily assessments of the Center's laboratory equipment needs to ensure they are available, properly stored, calibrated, and meet DTM requirements. Scheduling equipment installation qualifications, operational qualifications, and process qualifications in accordance with 21 CFR 211.63. Coordinating delivery and installation of new equipment and surplus of old equipment. Coordinating equipment requests including CERC requests and purchases. Identifying appropriate vendors to perform equipment maintenance and qualification in accordance with cGMPs 21 CFR 211.67. Performing walkthroughs to ensure that all equipment is in a qualified and calibrated state as required. Managing databases for the inventory and disposal of equipment and preparing the necessary reports.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Qualifications

You qualify at the GS-09 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements: You must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree directly related to the position, or have 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree above, or have an LL.B. or J.D., directly related to the position. OR You demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: Assisting with scheduling preventative maintenance for medical equipment; receiving and processing vendor's invoices; assisting senior staff with scheduling; ensuring medical equipment is serviced and ready for use. OR You must have a combination of post-baccalaureate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. You qualify at the GS-11 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements: You must have completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.M., if related. OR You demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: Tracking the costs of hospital equipment and developing budget input for the annual budget submission; procuring, maintaining, repairing, and replacement of cellular engineering equipment; managing databases for the inventory and disposal of equipment; reviewing the processes for the procurement, storage, inventory, maintenance, calibration, and disposal of the medical engineering equipment and recommending process enhancements for greater process efficiency and effectiveness. OR You must have a combination of post-baccalaureate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
