The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period is March thru October, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Duties

As a Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties: Cleans and services restrooms, chemical toilets, and other visitor facilities. Collects trash and recycling throughout park sites and performs litter clean-up on park g rounds, trails, parking lots, and roadways. Cleans visitor use areas using brooms, vacuum cleaners, buffers, and mops. Operates park vehicles up to 1 ton for park custodial and maintenance operations. Operates vehicles on highways and interstates following safety guidelines for vehicle operation. Assist in the performance of simple and routine building and grounds maintenance, exterior structures, equipment, and related utilities. Assist journey-level, or other higher graded maintenance workers under general supervision in general landscaping and grounds maintenance, basic carpentry, simple electrical installations or repairs, basic plumbing work, and painting interior and exterior surfaces, and perform a variety of Maintenance duties. Assist with minor plumbing repairs, such as install and repair faucets, toilets, urinals, flush valves, etc. Make minor electrical repairs, such as replacing light bulbs and switches. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment (mowers, trimmers, vehicles, etc.) Full-time temporary appointment not-to-exceed 1039 hours in a service year.
