This position is a Secretary (Executive Assistant), GS-0318-9/10, working in Bailey's Crossroads, Virginia, for the Headquarters Assistant Director and Deputy Assistant Director - National Wildlife Refuge System.

Duties

As an Executive Assistant, your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: Provide verbal guidance and direction to other administrative officials to facilitate consistent, responsive interaction among support staff. Independently review, proofread, and/or edit documents developed for the signature of administrator or executive. Resolve potential conflicts in schedules and recommend alternative options and/or solutions. Research, compile, assimilate, and prepare sensitive and confidential documents where little guidance exists. Coordinate on behalf of agency executives with other officials, Federal agencies, State agencies, Tribes, and private organizations and individuals.

Qualifications

Only experience and education obtained by 03/15/2024 will be considered. In order to qualify for this position, you must possess the Minimum Qualification: Minimum Qualification GS-9 One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-8 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes the following: providing dedicated administrative support to a manager or single office/program, such as arranging travel, maintaining calendars and schedules; coordinating highly visible correspondence and information requests; planning and coordinating arrangements for professional meetings and conferences. Minimum Qualification GS-10 One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes the following: executive level administrative support to a team of senior-level managers or to multiple offices/programs such as arranging travel, maintaining calendars and schedules; coordinating highly visible correspondence and information requests; planning and coordinating arrangements for professional meetings and conferences; and giving guidance to other administrative staff throughout an organization. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time In Grade Requirement: Applicants must meet both eligibility and qualification requirements for the position of interest by the closing date of the JOA. Specifically, i.
