You will serve as a Traffic Management Specialist in the Crisis Response Cell (CRC) of the Supply Chain Execution (SCE) Division of NAVSUP AMMO LOG CENT MECH.

Duties

You will monitor traffic management, transportation safety, and security procedures for movement of Navy ordnance. You will provide support for the planning, management, direction and administration of the in-service ordnance transportation management for assigned programs. You will provide monitoring and validation of SWT expenditures in support of authorized and necessary material movement. You will provide daily review of requisition listings and evaluating the qualifications of requirements based on urgency and purpose to determine the optimum and cost effective shipping mode.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-11 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of traffic management policies, principles, and practices and an in depth knowledge of ordnance management to provide coordination and control, Transportation Resource Management, and Traffic Management of the ammunition inventory. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Provide support for the planning, management, direction and administration of the in-service ordnance transportation management for assigned programs; 2) Monitor traffic management, transportation safety, and security procedures for movement of Navy Ordnance; 3) Provide the estimated annual requirements for Service Wide Transportation (SWT) resource requirements based on projected redistribution orders; 4) Provide daily review of requisition listings evaluating the qualifications of requirements based on urgency and purpose to determine the optimum and cost effective shipping mode and ;5) research and study program directives that identify areas for improvement and innovative approaches, technologies, and methods for evaluating the effectiveness of transportation programs and service.
