About the Position:Fort Drum, the home of the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), is located in Northern New York, a historically unique and geographically beautiful area, offering bountiful outdoor recreational opportunities from hunting and fishing to winter sports of all types.

Duties

Perform a variety of clerical, administrative and office automation functions in support of the directorate. Required to independently research, compose, compile and prepare requests in final form. Respond to questions from military and civilian law enforcement agencies, military commanders, insurance companies, and law firms. Prepare Commanders' Report of Disciplinary Action for all Crime Records Center reportable crimes and repeat offenses.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Up to 5% Travel for Duty.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
