You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER in the FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES DIVISION of MCAS BEAUFORT SC.

Duties

You will set performance standards for subordinates and evaluate work performance based on same. You will assure the protection and maintenance of real property, vehicles and equipment in the SFD's custody. You will ensure that the work environment is clean and the personnel and equipment are maintained in high state of operational readiness. You will assume responsibility for fire and emergency service division operations in the absence of the Fire Chief. You will work closely with other supervisors and fire prevention personnel to ensure a smooth, orderly and complete transition of operations during shift changes. You will ensure that applicable directives, procedures and policies governing the FD are followed.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current BASIC EMT Certification (National Registry).
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • Incumbent is designated emergency essential personnel and the position is subject to recall.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing fire and emergency services to the Command.
