You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the QUALITY ANALYSIS DIVISION, CODE 136 of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.

Duties

You will serve as a Program Manager and exercise a full range of technical and administrative responsibility in order to manage, administer and direct the Command Evaluation and Assessment Program. You will plan, prepare, schedule, and conduct continuous evaluations and assessments such as nuclear interface and non-nuclear maintenance, paint and preservation and crane to enable the FMA to perform mission related functions. You will conduct surveillance of various processes to include nuclear interface and non-nuclear maintenance, paint and preservation, crane safety.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • Work requires a considerable amount of walking and occasional climbing of ladders and stairs, bending, stooping and crouching while involved in inspections of installed equipment or equipment under repair onboard submarines and/or in facilities.
  • The program requires appropriate clothing, and may require safety shoes, hard hat and eye and ear protection.
  • The incumbent is required to comply with all personal protection and safety requirements while accomplishing work in hazardous areas.
  • Some lifting may be required. A generally recognized limit for normal unassisted lift is 40 pounds.
  • Incumbent is required to maintain qualification as a radiation worker, Critique Chairperson, Review Board Coordinator, Quality Assurance Supervisor (JFMM), and ASQ auditor qualification.
  • Incumbent must obtain/maintain an IT-II level designation.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade GS-11 level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience planning, preparing, scheduling and/or conducting continuous evaluations and assessments (e.g. nuclear interface and non-nuclear maintenance, paint, preservation and crane); Experience conducting training functional area and/or organizational area evaluators and surveillance personnel; provide guidance and assistance to various departments in development of organizational and functional area self-assessment programs, surveillance, internal problem tracking and lessons learned plans; Serve as the Critique and Problem Analysis matrix Administrator, responsible for developing and maintaining the command's industrial process instruction governing the critique; Acts as the functional manager for the Critique and Matrix entities of the computerized data tracking system; Experience in Quality Assurance inspection methods and applications/requirements per the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM), Currently holds or has held formal certification as a Quality Assurance Inspector (QAI) and/or Quality Assurance Supervisor (QAS) per the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM); Experience conducting Quality Assurance audits and surveillances in accordance with the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM); Experience conducting critiques, causal analysis, and data trending in order to identify weak areas and develop corrective actions. Examples of Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge in monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services in quality assurance, procurement, inspection, production, or related areas. Examples include: Reviewing production activities and capabilities in light of contract quality requirements. Reviewing written quality or inspection procedures for adequacy and evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of quality/inspection systems, including sampling plans. Analyzing quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality/inspection system. Verifying by test or inspection, using sampling inspection or intensive product inspection techniques, that products comply with requirements prior to acceptance. Identifying inadequacies and requesting corrective action. Computing data, summarizing results, and preparing reports or charts depicting pertinent relationships using statistical methods. Investigating customer complaints and deficiency reports and providing identification of causes to appropriate authorities. Reading, interpreting, and applying technical data such as blueprints, engineering drawings, product specifications, or technical manuals. Reviewing and evaluating supply systems operations and procedures through periodic audits and surveillance inspections.
