About the Position: This position is located at U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center at Fort Moore, GA. This position is a TERM Not to Exceed 13 months position. Please see "Additional Information" section below for further details.

Duties

Integrate the supply, transportation, and maintenance functions into a unified logistics program as it relates to the Modernization, Displacement and Repair Site (MDRS) mission. Analyze a wide logistics readiness posture in terms of equipment status, supply support capabilities, and regulatory policy and guidance necessary to achieve the highest level of readiness. Utilize multi-functional and technical knowledge of the various logistical systems such as Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A), Decision Support Tool (DST), etc., to integrate the Modernization, Displacement and Repair Site (MDRS) function. Coordinate with installation units, General Support, and Direct Support Contractor to verify and research nature of problems; analyze specific processes; make recommendations; and take corrective actions. Attend meetings, conferences, working groups, addressing reports, analyses, and recommendations to assist in future formulations of logistics maintenance program planning and execution.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent may be required to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Conducting analysis of logistics readiness posture in terms of equipment status, supply support capabilities, and regulatory policy and guidance; (2) Integrating the supply, transportation, and maintenance functions into a unified logistics program; (3) Providing guidance to improve readiness and logistics support effectiveness; and (4) Utilizing various multi-logistical systems, such as Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A), Decision Support Tool (DST), etc., or equivalent system to integrate the Modernization, Displacement, and Repair Site (MDRS) function. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
