The primary purpose of this position is: To perform as work leader over three or more supply technicians in support of the unit mission. Provides technical supervision to military members involved with supply operations support pertaining to specialized or unique equipment, parts, and supplies.

Duties

Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Inventory within the Logistics Readiness Squadron, ensuring weapon system parts are with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Provides technical and administrative management to staff members performing work in the employee and labor relations area. Leads the Inventory element to support a variety of installation and functional area organizations to resolves asset accountability requirements. Maintains records and provides reports with in-depth analysis using/designing charts, graphs, and spread sheets.

  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE CURRENT/PREVIOUS FEDERAL EMPLOYEES: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of supply regulations, policies, procedures, techniques, and methods to include requisitioning, requirements, equipment management, inspection activities, demand processing, records maintenance, and customer service. Knowledge of logistical functions, operations, systems, program requirements, and work methods. In addition, knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. Knowledge at this level is used in positions performing routine aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR APPLICANTS WITH NO PERVIOUSE FEDERAL EMPOYMENT: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of supply regulations, policies, procedures, techniques, and methods to include requisitioning, requirements, equipment management, inspection activities, demand processing, records maintenance, and customer service. Knowledge of logistical functions, operations, systems, program requirements, and work methods. In addition, knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. Knowledge at this level is used in positions performing routine aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS CURRENT/PREVIOUS FEDERAL EMPLOYEE: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS APPLICANTS WITH NO PREVIOUS FEDERAL EMPLOYMENT: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of supply regulations, policies, procedures, techniques, and methods to include requisitioning, requirements, equipment management, inspection activities, demand processing, records maintenance, and customer service. Knowledge of logistical functions, operations, systems, program requirements, and work methods. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. Ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve issues and/or deviate from normal supply management procedures or program requirements. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. Ability to read, interpret, and apply applicable reference material such as regulations, manuals, catalogs, records, orders, etc., to accomplish tasks and resolve problems. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
