You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (INFOSEC) in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY EXECUTION DIVISION of BUREAU OF NAVAL PERSONNEL.

Duties

You will ensure that cybersecurity requirements are integrated into continuity planning for Information Technology (IT) systems. You will ensure cybersecurity awareness, basics, literacy, and training are provided to operations personnel. You will ensure plans of actions and milestones, or remediation plans are in place for vulnerabilities identified during risk assessments, audits, inspections, etc. You will perform internal audit functions related to risk management.

Requirements

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for a Journeyman Information Security Manager (type 72) within 12 months of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Develop security plans, local policy guidance, regulation supplements and procedures; 2) Recommend Information Assurance (IA) policy and requirements; 3) Maintain programs, policies and procedures to protect the integrity and confidentiality of automated systems, network and data; 4) Reviews functional requirements that support the need for systems and identifies potential systems design approaches to comply with IA requirements. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
