We expect to fill two (2) vacancies at this time; however, additional positions may be filled from this announcement if they become available.

Duties

The following duties are at the GS-06 Full Performance Level Provides general information concerning office(s) operations to the public both orally and in writing; serves as clerical point of contact on human resource matters for the office(s) served. Prepare, edit, and finalized correspondence for office supervisors and managers; utilizes varies software and computer programs. Monitor and track personnel actions and initiate appropriate personnel actions using the approved automated process.

Qualifications

In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the qualification requirements - please be sure to include this information in your resume. No assumptions will be made about your experience. For GS-04: Must have one (1) year of general experience in progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of this position; OR completed 2 years of education above high school in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the prerequisite; OR an equivalent combination of the experience and education as described above. For GS-05: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-04 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is further defined as performing clerical administrative duties; working with the pubic and providing customer service; skill in computer software programs; OR completed 4 years of education above high school in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the prerequisite; OR an equivalent combination of the experience and education as described above. For GS-06: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in federal service. Specialized experience is further defined as performing clerical administrative duties; working with the public and providing customer service; maintaining electronic and paper records; skill in computer software programs and experience in data entry. Battle Mountain salary scale: $35,373 - $57,354 Tonopah Salary scale: $36,103 - $55,537 Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Physical Demands: The work is typically sedentary. Some work may require periods of walking, standing, bending, or driving a motor vehicle. The incumbent may frequently lift relatively light boxes, materials, and supplies and/or carry file folders, copied materials, books, and other similar materials. Work Environment: Work is typically located in an adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated office environment. The work environment may involve everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, mail distribution centers, meeting and training rooms, libraries, or motor vehicles.

Education

This position falls under the This position falls under the Miscellaneous Clerk and Assistant Series, 0303 and does not have Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR). Series.

GS-04 and GS-05 only: This position allows for education to be substituted for specialized experience (see qualification section for education requirements). If using education to qualify - You MUST submit a copy of ALL your college transcripts or a list of ALL college courses that include hours and grades from an accredited U.S. college/university. Upon selection, official transcripts must be received prior to appointment. If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
