This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Deputy Commandant for Mission Support, Assistant Commandant for Engineering & Logistics (CG-4), Office of Logistics (CG-44), Coast Guard (CG) Uniform Distribution Center (UDC), Cape May, NJ. 

Duties

You will serve as Materials Handler and responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted supply of uniform items and associated supplies for the uniform needs of CG Recruits in Cape May, NJ as well as direct accessions and other CG personnel.  You will also ensure the day-to-day provisioning of uniform items and accouterments to recruits and others from DLA and UDC inventory.  When not issuing uniform items, you will perform other inventory functions such as general housekeeping, inventory pulling/packing/verifying, and related shipping functions.  

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Applicant is required to meet the physical requirements of the position.
  • The position requires a valid state driver's license.
  • A physical examination is required for this position.
  • Drug Testing designated Position (TDP).

Eligibility will be determined by the relevance, scope, and quality of all experience and training, regardless of where or how acquired. *Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT) * Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order) * Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) * Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (other than blueprints) * Knowledge of Materials * Dexterity and Safety  National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
