This position is located in Big Cypress National Preserve, in the Administration Division. Open to the first 100 applicants or until 02/12/2024 whichever comes first. All applications submitted by 11:59 (EST) on the closing day will receive consideration.

Duties

Serves as a supply technician at a National Park Service unit. Provides for acquisition, utilization, protection, and disposition of federally owned personal property for the unit(s) serviced. The work includes technical supply management work for property utilization and inventory, electronic maintenance of property records through an automated property system data base, and the processing of property documents for acquisitions or disposal of property. PROPERTY MANAGEMENT: Prepares quarterly plan for the acquisition and disposal of excess property. Solicits input from program managers, monitors equipment usage, and reviews disposal requests. Is designated as the unit's Survey Officer, having final authority to effect certain disposal actions. PROPERTY ACCOUNTING: Provides direction and advice to custodial/liaison officers and the Accountable Property Officer by advising on and developing procedures for marking and maintaining accountability of property. Ensures adherence to established standards for property acquisition, utilization, accountability, and disposal. PROPERTY RECORDS AND REPORTS: Maintains the personal property inventory system of records. Receives source documents concerning personal property acquisition, transfer, or disposal action. Initiates action to obtain any additional information needed. Completes and audits automated data entry screens for accuracy and completeness before electronic transmittal. Verifies transmissions to ensure that all records are accepted. Corrects and resubmits rejections. Using the on-line automated property system maintains the currency of designations for custodial/liaison officers and the Accountable Property Officer so that all accountable property is properly assigned to responsible personnel. Prepares letters of designation for signature by the Accountable Property Officer. Conducts physical inventories, works to account for property in assigned functional areas, and participates as a team member in finalizing reviews. Investigates inventory discrepancies using available sources. Determines if property management program policies are supportive of needs and recommends changes in policies, as appropriate.

Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-02/12/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected. To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: supply management work for property utilization and inventory, electronic maintenance of property records through an automated property system data base, and the processing of property documents for acquisition or disposal of property. This experience could have been gained by managing and accounting for organizational property. You must include hours per week worked. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
