This position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6), Salisbury VA Healthcare System, Salisbury, North Carolina, assigned to Executive Directors Office and serves as the Program Support Assistant assigned to the MyHealtheVet Program.

Duties

Major duties may include: Responsible for providing data/reports related to the administrative, clinical, and technical aspects of the MHV program. Collects data that measures the effectiveness of administrative and technical aspects of MyHealtheVet and Secure Messenger programs of the medical center. Assist Veterans with MHV account creations, including creation of id.me and login.gov accounts for access, and verifying identity for premium account upgrades. Educate Veterans, their families, and/or caregivers about use of the MHV program and troubleshoot any difficulties they may be experiencing with program use. Responsible for answering telephone and returning calls to Veterans with questions about MHV access and provide access to the 1-800 MHV helpdesk number. Will visit with inpatient Veterans in their hospital rooms when necessary, or as requested, to assist with MHV access, including establishing accounts or troubleshooting log-in issues. Will assist the MHV coordinator with managing the Secure Message triage groups, including adding new staff to groups and removing staff who are clearing station or changing positions. Will monitor email notifications of LEAF portal requests for access to MHV as well as notifications of employees pending station clearance. Provides education and training to new staff at orientations, and existing staff as requested, regarding MHV and SM usage and guidelines. Responsible for daily monitoring of SM near escalation and escalated messages and sending email communications to staff/triage teams. Assists the MHV Coordinator for the annual budget for the MHV Program, and it is imperative that they use sound judgment in collaborating the tracking, utilization, and distribution of all funds. Responsible for recording, tracking all expenses related to MHV Program and notifies the Chief VEO of budgetary needs by utilizing spreadsheets to track all expenses and purchases; reviews invoices with each purchase for accuracy; collaborates with MHV Coordinator for program needs regarding marketing materials or other supplies. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/07/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: experience with clerical and administrative procedures, various office skills; and carrying out day-today administrative support activities; Working in an administrative position which required preparing correspondence, reports and graphs utilizing a variety of computer program. Skill in the use of a variety of computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and other software applications; Interacting with executive leadership in the VA and private sector, contractors, staff members as well as Veterans, their family members and/or legal representatives; Provide/submit requested information to ensure all due dates are met in a timely and satisfactory manner; Managing a fast-paced office to include, establishing priorities, set up, reschedule appointments; Use own initiative to follow-up on action items and time-sensitive issues with appropriate staff members. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work is basically sedentary, but a great deal of walking to all parts of the Medical Center is required since the incumbent will be working with a variety of clinical and administrative services.
