About the Position: The position is located at the Directorate of Public Works, Environmental Division, Ft. Moore, Georgia 31905. Fort Moore is located 100 miles south of Atlanta and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama.

Duties

Exercise considerable responsibility for decisions and/or recommendations in matters relating to the development and execution of Environmental Programs Army projects and actions. Coordinate with local environmental regulatory agencies, public and private organizations and other individuals on matters relating to environmental protection and preservation. Prepare reports and evaluates environmental programs for effectiveness and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Ensure adequate data acquisition and environmental analysis are considered, reported, and completed to effectively support NEPA requirements.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing administrative and program work relating to Environmental Protection programs such as: National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act, Resource Conservation Recovery Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act, Endangered Species Act, etc.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Environmental Assessment and Data AnalysisEnvironmental Compliance and Preventive ActionEnvironmental Project and Program ManagementTeamwork Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
