Duties

If selected for this position, you will perform the following duties: Provides supervision and oversight of visual information services to communicate information through visual means to support NIH programs and issues. Leads and facilitates the visual communication of information to a wide-ranging audience including scientists, researchers and lay or patient populations. Supervises the planning of visual information products for printed publications or exhibits, or the visual aspects of oral presentations. Advises on the technical advantages and disadvantages of various formats, styles, media, and methods of reproduction. Supervises the provision of drop-off and pick-up services, quality control, and delivery of contract services. Collaborates with the other MAB staff, designers, illustrators, or subcontractors on visual information projects to determine required deliverables. Tracks resources and costs carefully and regularly, and ensure information is entered regularly in required team database and/or Sharepoint sites.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Qualifications

You qualify at the GS-13 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: planning and carrying out visual information services to communicate information on organizational programs and issues; managing medical illustration services; managing production services of visual communications materials; coordinating and collaborating with other staff and organizations on the development and production of visual information services; and providing direction to other staff. You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
