About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. U.S. Army Sustainment Command, Logistics Readiness Center, Fort Buchanan, PR. This is a Planned Management Action open to Current Civilian Employees of the Organization. Current Civilian Employees of the Organization is defined as current employees of Fort Buchanan, PR (LRC). with Career or Career Conditional Status within the local commuting area. Consideration will also be given to current Army employees with competitive status.

Duties

Performs all aspects of technical management work; inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization, related to depot, local, or other supply activities. Maintains current knowledge base and answers questions of other workers on policies, procedures, written instructions, standard operating procedures. Ensures that needed plans, Standard Operating Procedures, material, Personal Protective Equipment, and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations. Answers workers questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives (e.g., technical orders); obtains needed information or decisions from the supervisor on problems that come up during the work.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position may require the incumbent to travel (TDY) up to 20% of the time.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work occasional overtime.
  • This position requires the employee to obtain the COR certification within 12 months and maintain thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the certification to operate a forklift within 6 months and maintain thereafter.
  • This position requires the incumbent to pass a pre-employment Drug test and random threafter.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 (NACI) investigation.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level which includes: 1. Responsible for providing direction and technical guidance in supply maintenance and warehouse management, involving equipment authorization, acquisition, accountability, and inventory management. 2. Performs financial inventory control of supply items. 3. Operates Motor Vehicles and forklift up to10,000 lbs to load, unload, and move palletized supplies/equipment and to transport from one location to another as an integral part of performing warehouse duties. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer ServiceDecision MakingStrategic ThinkingTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
