About the Position: This position serves as the Garrison Resource Management Officer, with authority and responsibility to direct, coordinate, and provide advice and assistance to the Garrison Commander and staff for resource management activities.

Duties

Serve as principal advisor and technical expert to the commander and key staff members on financial management activities. Provide oversight regarding fiscal policy and law, Program Objective Memorandum (POM) input, risk analysis, Internal Management Controls, civilian pay issues, installation bank and credit union activities, budget, and program matters. Exercise responsibility for the continued development, coordination, and evaluation of an effective integrated resource management program. Delegate authority to subordinate supervisors and program managers to evaluate the work of subordinate organizational elements.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 3 Certified position. Incumbent is required to obtain certification within 24 months of employment.
