This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Public Works, Fort Campbell, KY.

Duties

Completes trip tickets, preventive maintenance records, and accident records in case of an accident. Loads and unloads cargo being careful to balance and secure load. Performs operator maintenance and completes operating reports. Tallies out shipment and completes and signs all necessary documents. Consolidate items for transfer to various warehouse, storage locations, or holding areas. Inventory items received and issued to customers.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
  • This position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
  • Incumbent will be required to obtain and maintain a Fork Lift Certification within 6 months of starting this position.
  • This position requires planned and unscheduled overtime.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Materials Handler (FLO) ~ without more than normal supervision. The ability to perform common tasks such as complete warehousing operation involving functions such as issuing materials, supplies and equipment; experience palletizing items for shipping and/or storing by following established procedures; experience assembling items while keeping surrounding area clean of trash or debris; experience operating a computer terminal; working under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes task in progress and upon completion. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Efforts: Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas that requires standing, stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries supplies materials, and equipment weighing up to 70 pounds. May occasionally be required to lift over 70 pounds. Moderate physical effort is required in operating hand and foot controls while driving vehicle. Working Conditions: Works inside and outside on docks and storage areas which are cold, damp, drafty or hot. The work may be dirty, dusty, and greasy. Subject to injury from falling objects, collisions, shifting and overturning loads. Is exposed to cuts, scrapes, bruises and broken bones as a result of accidents while driving or operating a vehicle or fork lift. Is subject to serious accidents when driving.
