About the Position: Fort Eisenhower is approximately 139 miles east of Atlanta, GA; 80 miles southwest of Columbia, SC; 156 miles west of Charleston, SC; 175 miles southwest of Charlotte, NC; and 127 miles northwest of Savannah, Georgia. Fort Eisenhower's location is in the Augusta metropolitan area.

Duties

Schedules and makes staff visits to all assigned facilities to coordinate and monitor the Facilities Engineering Programs. Inspect facilities to validate existing conditions, determine required maintenance and repair activities, adequacy of contractual requirements and provides technical advice and instruction on facility management procedures. Develops, implements, maintains, and manages the initiation, execution, and closeout of demand maintenance orders, Preventative Maintenance Orders, and Operational Work Orders to accomplish routine maintenance, repair, and operational programs. Provides specialized information relating to Facility Maintenance and Repair, Safety, Fire Prevention and Contract management. Maintains facility records, charts and other materials in sufficient detail to facilitate the preparation of reports required by higher headquarters. Plans, develops, and monitors facility contractual requirements.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. with a major study in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
