You will serve as a Transportation Assistant (QA Inspector/Counselor) in the Navy Household Goods/Personal Property Shipping Office (HHG/PPSO) Store Front Section of NAVSUP FLC NORVA GF.

Duties

You will entitlement counseling and quality control services to military and civilian service members incident to movement of household goods. You will review orders, and determines the extent of entitlements and eligibility for the shipment, drayage or temporary/non-temporary storage of household goods. You will prepare and compile all required documents for shipping including counseling checklist, customs forms, Voucher/Pay Adjustment Authorization, etc. You will support the development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of continuous process improvement (CPI) initiatives and automated technology systems. You will respond to all member/employee and Transportation Service Provider (TSP) requests for information/assistance..

Requirements

Qualifications

For the GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing a variety of transportation support assignments and resolving a wide range of problems/issues related to the movement and storage of personal property. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Making recommendations on expanding or curtailing existing policies, processes and procedures; 2) Performing a wide range of personal property shipment management functions including household goods entitlements, personal property counseling, inbound and outbound shipment management, temporary storage and non-temporary storage; 3) Ensuring that the work of Transportation Service Providers (TSPs) comply with applicable service tenders, solicitations, contract specifications and other regulations; 4) Explaining shipment and storage options, excess costs, special procedures for shipments under various types of orders, approximate transit time, member/employee as well as Transportation Service Provider (TSP) responsibilities, claims procedures and other information relevant to the shipment/storage of personal property. For the GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that has equipped me with a thorough knowledge of a wide range of traffic management and transportation policies, principles, and methodology. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Communicating with members/employees, their dependents or agents to elicit their shipment needs and services desired to include explaining shipment and storage options, excess cost or approximate transit time; 2) Responding to requests for information/assistance including providing claims information, providing assistance to determine pre-approved services, or initiating shipment change requests; 3) Calculating shipment costs, reconciling shipment errors, assisting with filing loss and damage claims; 4) Providing counseling and entitlements in arranging and coordinating pickup, personally procured move, shipment and/or storage of household goods, unaccompanied baggage, privately owned vehicles, boats, mobile homes, and household goods inspections.
