Duties

Modify and troubleshoot computer control programs and perform tests and calibration. Perform troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, modification, installation and calibration of a variety of standard and nonstandard electronic, microprocessor and computerized control and monitoring equipment. Apply comprehensive knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic principles related to equipment and devices with intricate functional relationships. Resolve unusually complex installation and repair problems based on knowledge, theory, and accepted trade practices. Install major modifications to instruments and equipment in accordance with instructions, blueprints, diagrams, sketches and procedures to change or extend the range and improve the stability of equipment serviced. Perform daily tests and analysis of boiler water, and large centrifugal refrigeration units to include chilled water, cooling water, and condensate to determine proper chemical treatment of the various systems.

  • This position requires weekend hours, night shifts, regular or rotational shifts, holiday hours.
  • This position has on-call or call-back requirements.
  • If selected, you must be able to obtain a Refrigeration Transition and Recovery Certification within 90 days of appointment.

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed and show through experience and training that you possess the level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position.
