About the Position: This position is located in the Office of the Garrison Commander, Directorate of Public Works, National Training Center, Fort Irwin, CA. Fort Irwin is a world class training center for America's Soldiers, known for it's excellent desert training and vast recreational opportunities.

Duties

Train, or arrange for the training of, team members to accomplish tasks or projects. Assign daily work to Engineer Technicians in the performance of the contractor's budget and cost control; technical management; business management, and subcontracting policies/procedures. Utilize engineering technician skills and knowledge in the inspection of facilities and associated systems. Analyze labor, material, equipment and procedures used by the contractor to determine overall efficiencies and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Appointment to this position may be subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • Due to the nature of this position, employees may be required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime to include weekends and holidays.
