About the position: This position is assigned to the Child Development Center. This is a regular part-time position with benefits.

Requirements

  • This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations this includes annual influenza vaccinations and be free of all communicable diseases.
  • This position requires the incumbent to complete assigned training, to include Food Handlers certification, within specified time from date hire or assignment to position.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: ALL LEVELS Must be a high school graduate, or equivalent; and be able to provide proof (i.e., diploma or equivalent) for verification. AND Must have at least six months food handling experience in a food establishment. Must be able to read, write, and understand written and oral instructions and do simple tasks that are easily learned. Must be able to follow oral instructions, be able to use hand tools for cleaning, operate simple machines. Must be skilled in doing tasks with several steps and must use judgment in sequencing tasks. Must know food-handling techniques to meet sanitation and safety standards. Physical Efforts: Must be physically able to lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Must be able to continuously stand, walk, and bend, frequently stoop, reach, push, and pull for long periods of time. Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate, and successfully complete a National Agency check, State Criminal History Check, and Installation Records Check. Must be 18 years of age. Must hold a valid driver's license.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution in order to qualify.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
