About the Position: Serve as a Police Services Technician (office Automation), performing a variety of clerical, administrative and office automation functions in support to the Directorate of Emergency Services (DES). This position is located at Fort Cavazos, Texas.

Duties

Serve as a Police Services Technician, performing a variety of clerical, administrative and office automation functions in support to the Directorate of Emergency Services (DES). The incumbent provides a wide variety of information and expertise regarding administrative requirements, regulations, policies and procedures for all assigned areas. Serve as Tickets/Revocation Specialist responsible for sorting citations and ensure those offenses that requires a memorandum for Notice of Suspension of Installation Driving Privileges are available and has been issued by the police officer. Assist U.S. Magistrate Court with ticket requests and dismissals, the III Corps Staff Judge Advocate (SJA) and 1CD Staff Judge Advocate (SJA) with hearing requests for restricted driving privileges. Responsible for interpreting military dispositions and annotates the adjudication within the ALERTS system as finalization of the report. Serve as Alternate Signature Authority for all military police reports for the Installation.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or occasionally business travel requirement.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes research law enforcement guides, instructions, regulations and manuals to process police reports and to advise management and/or law enforcement officials on status of police reports; Advise management and/or law enforcement officials in a variety of law enforcement issues; Administers or assist with the administration/maintenance of a law enforcement tracking system and SharePoint or similar systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: One and a half years of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Law Enforcement, Administration, Criminal Justice or comparable degree program related to the work of the position OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond one year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages. In addition to meeting the above requirements this position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
