The position serves as the Laborer Supervisor and shares the responsibility with the other supervisors for assigning, directing, reviewing the work of   work leaders, laborers, and custodial workers and evaluating their work performance; planning, scheduling, and coordinating work operations; and resolving problems related to the work performed by Building Services’ staff, responsible for cleaning and maintaining all NGA areas.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for the WS-3502-4. Element 73                  Ability to Lead or Supervise (Screen-out) Element 82-A              Knowledge of Custodial Materials Element 1                   Ability to do the Work of the Occupation Without more than normal supervision Element 25-A              Work Practices Element 86                  Dexterity and safety Element 87                  Reliability and Dependability as a Laborer Work requires frequent standing, bending and stooping.  Work occurs in cramped areas.  Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 80 pounds, unassisted.  Works on ladders, scaffolds and high lifts.  Requires weekend hours and shift work.  Requires indoor and outdoor performance of duties.  Must be able to climb ladders, stay on feet for long periods of time and be able to work from standing, bending, kneeling and awkward positions.  The incumbent is exposed to dirt, dust, chemicals, chemical vapors and human secretions.  "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement to receive consideration under merit promotion procedures. CTAP/ICTAP candidates: To be considered "well qualified" you must meet all of the requirements as described in this section.
