About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Garrison, Directorate of Human Resources, Military Personnel Division (MPD). The incumbent provides administrative and technical military personnel support for Army Soldiers at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center located at Bethesda, Maryland.

Duties

Provides regulatory guidance on all aspects of military personnel operations. Coordinates assignment instructions for all incoming and outgoing Soldiers. Councils Soldiers and eligible family members on retirement and separation processing. Assists retirement eligible personnel or family members with their elections for the Survivors Benefits Plan (SBP). Administers the authorization of benefits under the Former Spouse Protection Act.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
