Salary: $47 166 - 58 642 per year

About the Position: This position is TERM not to exceed 13 months. It requires frequent, direct contact with inmates. This position is included under the Law Enforcement (LEO) provisions of Special Retirement Coverage (SRC). The maximum entry age for positions covered under this retirement is 37 and mandatory retirement age of 57 years old. Duties

Ensure actions taken are consistent with requirements of Equal Opportunity, Small Business, and competitive bidding. Review vendor previous history, market conditions and specifications or technical data prior to making purchases. Maintain an audit trail for all purchases. Extract and assemble data to create requisitions. Prepare and submit one-time and special requisitions. Make purchases using a Government purchase card. Perform technical support duties related to maintaining property accounts and records. Prepare recurring and special reports. Conduct physical inventories and preforms research to resolve discrepancies. Operate a vehicle, up to five ton, to pick up and deliver supplies. Operate a fork lift to load and unload heavy items.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Employee must be able to pass a Criminal History Background Check. Candidates under consideration will be required to certify whether they have ever been convicted of such an offense.
  • Employee must possess appropriate valid driver's license for vehicle(s) operated.
  • For the purpose of ensuring the safety, security, custody and control of the Military Corrections Complex, personnel must consent to inspection of their person and property, including vehicles when within the grounds or facilities of the Complex.
  • NOTE: This position was approved as primary/rigorous for Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) retirement coverage under the provisions of title 5 United States Code (U.S.C.) 8336(c) and 8412(d) by Department of Defense (DoD) memorandum dated 19 August 2010.
  • NOTE: The maximum entry age for positions covered under the special Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) retirement is 37 years old.
  • NOTE: This position requires a medical physical exam upon appointment and an annual re-evaluation. Employee must also undergo screening for tuberculosis in conjunction with their annual medical examination.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assists coordinating and/or responding to supply inquiries regarding the status of requisitions, delivery of material, and/or other questions received from customers, storage depots, or other organizations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. Education Substitution: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions shown in the qualifications area above.
