The Operations Research Analyst performs a mixture of routine and multiple and varying assignments under the limited direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced technical specialist.

Duties

Collects, records, and analyzes data by applying mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, and other optimizing methods to provide information that assists management with decision-making.

Qualifications

IN ADDITION TO MEETING THE BASIC EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS SPECIFIED BELOW:To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-G, FG/GS-9 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.Specialized experience is defined as: Experience compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, and verifying data. ANDExperience utilizing automated systems, analytical software and tools, and databases to gather data.You should include relevant examples of the specialized experience in your work history. Basic Requirements:

Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.

If you are a current or former Federal employee, and you currently hold or previously held a position classified in the 1515 occupational series, you are not required to submit a college transcript provided you upload a copy of the SF-50, Notification of Personnel Action, verifying your classification in the 1515 occupational series.
