The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the primary point of contact to the squadron commander for all clerical and administrative support for the squadron to include Government Travel Card program, Defense Travel System administrator, Government Purchase Card program, Records Management, Unit Training Manager, and Military Personnel Data System.

Duties

Serves as management program and administrative specialist for the 25th Space Range Squadron Serves as the resident subject matter expert for all mandated administrative support programs. Directly assist the commander in the management of all administrative support program functions. Maintains a suspense system for all eternally assigned taskers, as well as those generated by the office chief.

  • A permanent basing decision for STARCOM is still pending and may require this position to be relocated based upon that decision, as applicable.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NK-I, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include experience performing clerical and administrative support programs and functions of an organization. Experience with administrative support programs such as Government Travel Card (GTC) program, Defense Travel Systems (DTS) administrator, Government Purchase Card (GPC) program, Records Management, Unit Training Manager (UTM), Sexual Assault Representative (SAPR), and Military Personnel Data Systems (MilPDS).; AND experience assisting/supporting personnel issues and manpower resource requirements. OR EDUCATION: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Combination of education and experience as described in the job opportunity announcement and education. NOTE: Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of an extensive body of policies and procedures governing the overall unit administrative and commander's support staff operation. Knowledge of the organizational and functional responsibilities and operations of an organization. 2. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs. 3. Knowledge of various office automation software processing procedures and function keys to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, to edit and reformat electronic drafts, and to update and revise existing databases or spreadsheets. 4. Knowledge of Task Management and Workflow program operations, goals, objective. Ability to plan and carry out reviews of unit programs, coordinate, analyze and evaluate reports and conditions to recommend remedial actions. 5. Skill in fact-finding, problem analysis, problem resolutions, and development of concrete action plans to solve problems. Ability to understand a standardized body of personnel rules, regulations, procedures, and precedents. 6. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
