About the Position: The person in this position will serve as the Mail Clerk performing work in the Mail Room and Distribution Center for a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).

Duties

Maintain registers on all incoming insured, certified, and registered mail. Check mail for proper format and conformance. Contact organizations and other mail facilities to obtain forwarding information. Direct the distribution of materials. Review and sort materials into categories by subject matter control. Process incoming and outgoing materials. Participate with the Postal Officer in the conduct of formal postal inspections. Serve as Alternate Official Mail Control Officer.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position may require the incumbent to have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. routinely.
  • This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons.
  • This position may be designated as "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations; the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college, or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
