About the Position: This position is with US Army Installation Management Command, US Army Garrison Fort McCoy Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobility & Security Plans, Operations & Security Division Plans and Operations Branch located at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin.

Duties

Serves as Emergency Manager for the US Army Garrison within the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security. Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) Chemical, Biological, Nuclear and Explosive incident response planning and prevention, and various related standard operating procedures (SOPs). Coordinates all HAZMAT, and Disaster response special programs implementation such as centrally funded Department of Army or Defense programs. Acts as liaison between Garrison and other governmental and private entities involved in Emergency Response activities. Plans, coordinates, and facilitates the conduct of garrison exercises, in coordination with all assigned units, agencies, etc, to include tenant units/agencies. Develops, coordinates and executes garrison level exercises to test compliance and readiness in accordance with published Emergency Management plan. Plans, formulates, and coordinates all matters pertaining to the protection and security of personnel, property, and material against all threats to include terrorism. Writes Operations Orders (OPORDS) and Fragmentary Orders (FRAGOS). Coordinates and prepares after action reports of emergencies in or on the garrison area of responsibility in final form for submission to higher authority.

Requirements

  • Employee may be required to serve on rotating shifts during emergencies or training exercises.
  • Employee is subject to 24-hour recall to perform emergency response duties. May include tour(s) of duty on weekends or nights to support training for or during actual emergency operations.
  • Travel outside local commuting area may be required up to approximately 25%.
  • This position requires a Secret Clearance.
