You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (APPSW/OS) in the NLSC.

Duties

You will manages deployment of licenses to staff and external partners. You will assess software solutions to ensure that they provide the best solutions for business operations and suggest changes or improvements. You will track and prepare software license procurements (micro purchases and contracts). You will develop and implement approaches, strategies, protocols, and design standards for the efficient and effective procurement, development, operations, and sustainment of Information Technology Operations (ITO) products and services. You will plan implementation strategy to ensure that enterprise components can be integrated and aligned. You will act as team lead over one to two GS12 Enterprise Mission and Applications Engineers, ensuring work is delegated fairly and appropriately based on skill set and bandwidth.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area Cyberspace Policy/Strategy Planner, level II within 12 months of appointment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-12 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as: 1) Identifying and prioritizing critical business functions in collaboration with organizational stakeholders. 2) Providing advice on project costs, design concepts or design changes; 3) Ensuring acquired or developed system(s) and architecture(s) are consistent with organization's cybersecurity architecture guidelines; and 4) Applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to criteria, issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations, to develop new or modified work methods and resolve complex problems Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
