Duties

You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT (SPK012) at the STRATEGIC WEAPONS FACILITY ATLANTIC (SWFLANT) FIELD ACTIVITY of STRATEGIC SYSTEMS PROGRAMS. You will serve as the Command’s Public Relations expert. You will provide coordination and logistical support for command sponsored meetings. You will develop specific plans, provide coordination and protocol guidance and assistance in relation to distinguished visitors and ceremonies, dedications, and special events involving the Commanding Officer. You will compile, analyze, and evaluate complex (often contradictory) data from departments and contractors covering the full range of SWFPAC programs and mission objectives. You will advise the Commanding Officer on all public messaging issues and attend meetings and briefings with the Commanding Officer. You will evaluate work operations, external organizational influences, internal organizational structures and resources, and past, present, and future programs to insure the completeness and accuracy of the briefing materials. You will be responsible for the content and presentability of the Commanding Officer’s Command Brief presentation that is available (and presented in any one of a number of versions) to all high level visitors.

Requirements

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Coordinating a public relations program; developing internal and external agenda planning for official visits; and developing and presenting information on a wide variety complex/technical subjects for internal and external customers.
