About the Position: This is a Permanent position as a Lead IT Specialist (Policy&Planning/Network) located at the Army Installation Management Command, Directorate Plans, Trng, Mob & Secty (DPTMS) Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.

Duties

Serves as the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) for Mission Training Complex,supporting Cyber Security Program Management and oversight. Ensures that changes, modifications, additions, or up grades are in accordance with established legal and regulatory requirements. Coordinates draft versions of the policy, procedures, and standards with personnel within the MTC, Major Subordinate Units, and other Army commands and activities when required. Provides advice and guidance pertinent to Cyber security program policies, guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) during all stages of the automation process. Articulate and communicate to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is designated as an Information Assurance Manager (IAM) Level 2. Incumbent or selectee is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification / recertification outlined in DoD 8570.01-M
  • Position requires incumbent employee to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. The incumbent is required to sign a DA form 5019-R and must pass urinalysis testing as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • The incumbent is required on an occasional basis to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
  • This is a Cyber Security Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for certification at Level II in Information Assurance Management (IAM-II).
  • Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP Certified) or able to obtain within six months of employment.
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM Certified) or able to obtain within six months of employment.

(4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: solving complex or sensitive problems by developing and proposing strategic alternatives; identifying possible conflicts and shared benefits; helping team anticipate problems and identifying and evaluating potential sources of information; providing feedback and coaching to others to help solve problems; engaging appropriate stakeholders when developing solutions in order to understand and incorporate multiple perspectives and needs; evaluating the effectiveness of decisions and adjusting future decisions as appropriate.
