Duties

Physical Security Implements and administers the J7 Physical security program. Researches, interprets, analyzes and applies physical security guidelines from DOD, USAF, N&NC and Service policies for local application. Information Security Implements and administers the Information security program. Researches, interprets, analyzes and applies Information security guidelines from DOD, USAF, N&NC and Service policies for local application. Personnel Security Implements and administers the Personnel security program. Researches, interprets, analyzes and applies Personnel security guidelines from DOD, USAF, N&NC and Service policies for local application. IndustrialSecurity Implements and administers the Industrial security program. Researches, interprets, analyzes and applies Industrial security guidelines from DOD, USAF, N&NC and Service policies for local application.TMT Provides Directorate wide suspense control for external and internal task assignments.

  • Will be occasionally required to work holidays, weekends, and non-standard hours to support military operations.
  • This position is designated by the Air force as a Test Designated Position (TOP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug. The selectee must sign a statement acknowledging the position occupied is identified as a TDP.
  • The incumbent is (A) to refrain from use of illegal drugs and (B) if required, to submit to urinalysis testing.
  • This position has been designated as Special Sensitive. The employee is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmental information clearance as a condition of employment.
  • Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) conferral is required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security
  • Accreditation and Certification and AFI 36-2645, Security Professional Certification and Development. The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written
  • approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative.
  • In the performance of assigned duties, employee uses tact, diplomacy, and professionalism to promote effective working relationships with a variety of offices and agencies.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Ad hoc, Emergency, or OPM prescribed "Unscheduled" Telework. This eligibility is separate and distinct from the employee's eligibility.
  • A civilian employee's telework arrangement may be terminated at the discretion of the supervisor or at the employee's request.
  • TRAVEL AND RELOCATION EXPENSES WILL NOT BE PAID.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-07 (or higher) grade level or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of such experience include Knowledge of the mission, objectives, terminology, and management practices of the organization and recognize probable areas of interaction and overlap between mission goals. Knowledge of the policies, organization, operations, work practices, and physical security parameters of regulated industries, Federal agencies, states, or other entities to provide information, evaluate compliance, and recommend changes and control measures. Knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review, independently analyze, and resolve difficult and complex security problems. Knowledge of a broad range of security program relationships, and expertise in information, personnel, industrial and physical security to effectively implement and administer applicable security programs and/or coordinate with other specialized security programs. Knowledge of security classification methods, concepts, and eligibility for access to classified or sensitive posed or new projects, organizations, and/or missions to assure the presence of adequate planning for information security and other controls. OR EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of military process and doctrine; DoD, Joint, and Services' organizational structures; national intelligence organizations, state and federal emergency organizations, other pertinent interagency organization such as US Coast Guard, Federal Emergency Management Agency, etc. Knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review, independently analyze, and resolve difficult and complex security problems; apply policy direction to contractors and government/military officials, and develop guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a variety of work situations and various levels or degrees of security controls. Knowledge of a broad range of security program relationships, and proficiency in information, personnel, and industrial security to effectively implement and administer applicable security programs and/or coordinate with other specialized security programs. Knowledge of security classification methods, concepts, and eligibility for access to classified or sensitive information to review plans for proposed or new projects, organizations, and/or missions to assure the presence of adequate planning for information security and other controls. Skill in planning, developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program. Knowledge of automated database tools and efficient management planning. Knowledge of one or more automated databases associated with a specific security function to recognize, locate, and insert data/information; support office and security operations; and produce a variety of documents and reports. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. clearly. concisely. and accurately. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
