This position is part of the TX SAO, Dallas Army Aviation Support Facility and is located in Grand Prairie, Texas. The purpose of this position is to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, modify and test aircraft engines. Texas is one of 9 states with NO state income tax.

Duties

As a AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC (TITLE 32) with the Texas National Guard, your duties will include, but will not be limited to: Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctioning engines utilizing all available test equipment to determine degree of disassembly, repair, modification and adjustment needed. Performs periodic and special inspections on engines. Performs engine trim in accordance with applicable directives. Must have knowledge of applicable technical manuals and other publications pertaining to aircraft engines such as Electronic Technical Manuals (ETM) and ULLS-A computer files. When on National Guard Bureau (NGB) Flying Status orders, may participate in aerial flights, which are defined by applicable Army publications for Maintenance Test Flights. Serves as a member of the flight crew for the purpose of observing, recording, and diagnosing malfunctions with digital test equipment, or otherwise assisting in determining the performance of aircraft engine components. Acquires and maintains currency and proficiency on test equipment and procedures in support of modernized aircraft. Performs proficiency training, as required, and evaluates training effectiveness. Performs required travel to accomplish assigned duties and the organizational mission. Assists authorized firefighters in the performance of fire/crash rescue duties as needed. Assists with maintenance work within the Logistics function to accomplish mission requirements. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications

To be considered for qualification, your resume must include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of employment/experience reflecting the following: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify at the WG-10 grade level, your resume must include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of employment experience reflecting at least 18 months experience or training performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operations and making prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories. Experience or training performing maintenance overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft engines, engine components, and power trains for fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft. Experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical record, and by own diagnosis. Quality of Experience - Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position.
