About the Position: Uses extensive practical knowledge of maintenance program planning, including evaluating the condition of all facility components.

Duties

Review engineering service requests submitted by customers and determine what is needed to fulfill the intent of request. Schedule and conduct staff visits to facilities on Fort Wainwright or USAG Alaska satellite areas to monitor and evaluate facility conditions. Responsible for the Cradle-to-Grave process for small maintenance and repair projects. Brief Branch Chief on status of all plans and work in progress. Apply the full range of methods and processes related to management, planning, operation, maintenance, and utilization of post facilities. Develop statements of work, independent government estimates, and pre-bid walk thru with contractors for small maintenance and repair projects.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing a maintenance program for an office, apartment building/complex, hospital, recreation facility, military, or other special-purpose building or facility, including planning maintenance activities such as repairs and general upkeep of facility, and developing preventive maintenance programs to cover areas such as but not limited to electrical, plumbing, mechanical. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Facilities InspectionFacilities Procurement and Contract ManagementFacilities Reporting and Record-KeepingProject Planning, Design, and Construction Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
