You will serve as an Office Automation Assistant in the Administration Department of STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS WING ONE.

Duties

You will use various software to produce a variety of correspondence, reports, forms, and other documentation (i.e., military and non-military letters, endorsements, awards, instructions, etc.) in final form from rough draft or oral instructions. You will use database and/or graphics software to enter, revise, sort or calculate, to retrieve data for standard reports and maintain electronic files. You will ensure correct punctuation, capitalization, spelling, grammar, format and arrangement of material per the Navy Correspondence Manual. You will receive incoming mail and correspondence, screen material for suspense dates, establish controls, and follow up with supervisors. You will set up and maintain logs showing the status of actions and correspondence, ensuring that suspense dates are being met by internal staff. You will receive and screen visitors and telephone calls to the office and refer as appropriate. You will utilize the Defense Travel System (DTS) to prepare various types of travel orders and answer customer questions regarding travel authorizations, advances, and entitlements.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing office equipment and software to produce a variety of correspondence, reports, forms, or other documentation in support of an organization's operations. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of at least four full academic years of education above high school

OR

A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
