Duties

***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Performs duties related to the receipt, intake, and indexing of health and administrative information; Interfaces computer applications and Fee Basis Claims Systems modules; Separates documentation based on claim type, and scans and uploads documents to medical records; Checks files for image quality and legibility; Receives and processes all mail and express mail; Reads, date stamps, and sorts mail into established categories; Reviews invoices to ensure completeness and accuracy; Returns claims to vendors as needed indicating corrections needed and actions required for future submission; Performs copying and filing duties; Performs related duties as required. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. Recruitment & Relocation Incentives: Not authorized. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS GS-05: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level in Federal service. Specialized experience includes: reading, date stamping, and sorting mail into established categories. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit. ~OR~ A bachelor's degree or 4 years of successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business or technical school, junior college, college, or university for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. One year of full-time undergraduate study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business or technical school. Transcripts required and experience must be detailed. ~OR An equivalent combination of specialized experience and post high school education as described that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of this position. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: Attention to DetailClericalManages and Organizes Information IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Requirements: The work of this position is sedentary, though some movement, lifting, and stooping are required when using files or delivering stacks of documents. Concentration and sustained performance under prolonged stress is required because of the time factors involved in completing work within timeframes. Work is normally performed in an office setting that is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
