This position is located in the District of Columbia Court's Benefits/Operations Branch of the Human Resources Division and is responsible for processing personnel and payroll actions such as appointments, promotions, separations, terminations, and within-in-grade increases. In addition, the incumbent will calculate retirements.  

Duties

The Human Resources Specialist (Processing/Retirement) duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • A probationary period of one (1) year must be successfully completed.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or GED plus seven (7) years of experience in human resources of which at least one (1) year of specialized experience in federal benefits and operational workflow processes and processing a variety of personnel actions.   PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in human resources management, business administration, public administration, or related field plus three (3) years of experience in human resources of which at least one (1) year of specialized experience in federal benefits to include preparing federal retirement estimates and one (1) year of specialized experience in payroll/personnel workflow processes and accurately processing a variety of personnel actions. Grade 12:   A high school diploma or GED plus eight (8) years of experience in human resources of which at least two (2) years of specialized experience in federal benefits and operational workflow processes and two (2) years of experience preparing retirement estimates.   PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in human resources management, business administration, public administration, or related field plus four (4) years of experience in human resources of which at least two (2) years of specialized experience in federal benefits to include preparing federal retirement estimates and two (2) years of specialized experience in payroll/personnel workflow processes and accurately processing a variety of personnel actions. Experience using Federal Payroll and Processing System (FPPS), Electronic OPF (e-OPF), and Workforce Tracking and Transformation System (WTTS) are preferred.  *Applicants please be advised that your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience and that you meet the basic qualifications, or you will not be determined qualified for this position.
