You will serve as a Supply Technician In the Supply Management Department Mid-Atlantic North Division of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK.

Duties

You will use the REMEDY website to input records of provisions orders, and receipts orders by document number through the NWS Earle ordering points. You will coordinate with DLA to add new ship requests to appropriate ordering points, enabling a ship to make provisions orders, including electronic ordering of provisions for offsite locations at distant shipyards when requested. You will research government sources and SDSs (Safety Data Sheets) for HAZMAT materials ordered for use by NAVSUP Earle personnel and work to get new HAZMAT items added to NAVSUP Earle's AUL. You will have a general knowledge of agency policies, procedures and regulations governing the HAZMAT Material Management Program and Authorized User List (AUL). You will have knowledge of material availability factors affecting national or local productions such as factory and transportation strikes, material shortages, factory shutdowns and other situations.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:I have one year of Supply Technician experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying a thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, day to day servicing techniques and instructions sufficient to provide technical supply support work and related to supply operations and program requirements. I have experience conducting extensive research to reconstruct records for complex supply transactions to resolve discrepancies issues, establish audit trails, and resolve inquiries concerning supply support requirements, such as specialized or unique supply items, equipment, subsistence provisions, and/or parts. I utilize various automated supply information management systems and websites to process input, update, audit, and manipulate date for work operations and report generations. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Performing a wide range of supply support work, creating/receiving ship purchase requests to order unique supplies and equipment, arranging provision deliveries to ships, researching various sources of supply and providing quotes for purchase requisitions. 2) Utilizing various computer systems and websites such as Subsistence Total Order and Receipt Electronic System (STORES) web-based system, REMEDY website, and similar computer systems to process requisitions, input data, perform records search, and conduct inventory of supplies and or materials. 3) Utilizing current software and websites such as "STORES and REMEDY" to provide the Base HAZMAT program direct support and to research various base command AUL ( Authorized Use List) to ensure customer owned materials coming into Naval Weapons System Earle is permitted..
